Today we had to write two amazing fun facts about Urulu

1. People believe that Urulu is around 600 million years old.

2. Uluru is an enormous red rock that is in a middle of a desert.

A&P Show

The unforgettable Thursday last week the whole class rode to the A&P Show with a school bus. Once we arrived at the A&P Show we were all split up to a group I was picked to go on Dylan’s mum, it was me, Tevita, Beau, Dylan and of course Dylan’s mum.





While we were walking around we got to see plenty of animal that we could pat, the animal that I really found interesting was the horses. I liked them because they were gigantic, they were as huge like the school roof. I also liked them because of their funny haircuts, some had mohawk hair.





You should definitely go to the A&P Show because you will be able to see lots of animals like lambs, funny goats, lazy pigs, gigantic horses and the sheeps that is as fluffy like the clouds. There will be also some free amazing stuff that you can get but some you will have to work hard for. There will also be some yummy food that will be sold beside the walk path,but you can only buy those yummy foods if you have some money.


But you can get a free yummy smoothie that you can also make yourself. Making your smoothie yourself is fun because you will be able to use like a bike that makes the smoothie. This is why I think you should definitely go to the A&P show because there are so many things that you can do.

Introduction


If you visit Wigram in summer you may find the large 1 meter tall Wigram Falcon eating its prey on tree branches.





Description





The Wigram Falcon is very big. It is 1 meter tall and has a large wing span. They are so big, they can scare predators that attack their eggs such as pesky eagles.





The Wigram Falcon has light green plumage on the front and dark green plumage at the back. This allows it to camouflage in trees and be hidden from their prey when they attack. They are able to dive on them without being seen and then eat them.





The Wigram Falcon has a long sharp talons so that they can grip onto tree branches and rip open the flesh of their prey. A Wigram Falcon also has a sharp curved beak so that they can tear small chunks of flesh from their prey to eat.





The Wigram Falcon also has a light green eye that can see 5 meter away so that it can find its prey.












Habitat





You can most definitely find the Wigram Falcon everywhere in trees throughout Wigram, in Christchurch. They are commonly located in Kahikatea trees. These trees have green leaves which allows for the Wigram Falcon to be easily camouflaged. This makes it difficult to spot.





The nest of a Wigram Falcon is about 50cm big and made from leaves and branches. The size of the nest allows for three of their 15cm eggs to rest comfortably.





Diet





The Wigram Falcon’s uses their strong curved beak to eat small birds like sparrows. The Wigram Falcons curved beak helps them tear the flesh of their prey. Sometimes The Wigram Falcon eats large birds like other type of falcons and hawks.





The Wigram Falcon eats 35 pounds of meat a day. 35 pounds of meat are 5 to 6 large birds or 40 to 45 small birds.





The Wigram Falcon flies through the sky and chases birds to eat. The Wigram Falcon also dives on other birds, it stretches it wings at the back and uses its long sharp talon to stab their prey. But sometimes Wigram Falcons blend in a tree and wait for other birds for them to dive and eat.





A baby Wigram Falcon finds and eats small insects such as beetles.







Predators and Threats





There are a few threats to the Wigram Falcon. Other birds fly to a Wigram Falcons nest and destroy and eat their eggs. Other types of falcons destroys and eats their eggs. Sometimes people destroy their nest when their trees have been cut down for woods or building a new house.





Sneaky, pesky eagles are one of the Wigram Falcons predators. Eagles sneak down on a Wigram Falcon’s nest and destroys and eat its eggs.





Possums are also one of the Wigram Falcons predators. Possums climb up to a Wigram Falcons tree and sneak down and eat a Wigram Falcons eggs.





Pollution also threatens the Wigram Falcon like plastic, because the Wigram Falcon will try to eat what they see on the ground. They think the plastic is meat. The number of Wigram Falcon has been dropping quickly because of the pollution that humans are causing.





To help the Wigram Falcon we must not throw rubbish anywhere near the Wigram Falcons trees even in other places.

As we can see from this amazing, interesting facts that Wigram Falcon is the kind of bird we want to protect from extinction.

Cheetah is the fastest land animal in the world, a cheetah can run up to 110 km to 120 km. Cheetah is one of the fastest animal in the world they are the world’s fastest land animal. Cheetahs are big cats they are type of a big cat.

Where do cheetahs live

Cheetahs are mostly found in sub-Saharan Africa in some African parks. They like dry, open grasslands where they can pick up speed to kill prey. Cheetahs are best known fo living in the grasslands of East Africa.

What do cheetahs eat

Cheetahs mostly eat gazelles, cheetahs in the wild hunt medium size wild animals. They actually eat a lot more animals they eat rabbits, wildebeest, antelope, warthog and many more wild animals.

What does a Cheetah look like?

Cheetah has hundred of black spots all over their body it’s called a tear mark. These marks help them reflect the glare of the sun when they are hunting during the day. Cheetah’s are medium size cat, they have long slender legs but their leg is also muscular and also super flexible.

     

       Mother cheetah and cheetah cubs

       A mother cheetah cares to anywhere 2 to 8 cheetah cubs. Cheetah cubs are often the target of predators like lions and hyenas and most of the cheetah cubs do not survive their first year. Cheetah cubs have long white hair at the back of their neck and down to their tail, this helps them blend into tallgrass that keeps them safe from predators like lions and hyenas.

Conclusion

As we can see from this amazing facts that cheetahs are the best   adapted animal on the earth.

The Pirate Shop

The Pirate Shop Lucky Lulu was sinking quickly. “Abandon shop! Everyone into the Rockets!” hollered Captain Francisco. But the crew and passengers knew there were not enough Rockets, so they threw each other and even one delicious bowl overboard. Then everyone disappeared into the dirty stinky water and grabbed onto whatever they could.


Captain Hagrid ordered everyone to form a line, tie their crafts together, and sing “Finesse by Planet Mars”. First in line were Donald Trump and Jack Obama , bobbing in their expensive lamborghini. Next, came Jake Paul hanging on for dear life to a slimy dog poop They were followed by billions of cats.





After seven days, they were rescued by a strange man named Miguel wearing Hills Shoes . Not one passenger from the Lucky Lulu has taken a boat ride again.

The greatest showman/The Greatest Tom Jack

The Magic Show By Miguel


Jack was big tall man that had a short black hair, with a joyful smile and face. He wears a red coat and a shining white top with a gold looking armor at the front. He was holding a long mysterious magical wand up on the whispering gentle air. He also wears his black beautiful pants that was as long as his long legs. He had shoes that were as black as his pants. He was performing.






Jack had to fly on an aeroplane to perform on a stage in America called America’s Got talent. That is where people go when they want to show their incredible talents. The stage was incredibly enormous like it was a cage of a t-rex, and there was a lot of people cheering on every incredible tricks that they saw. Inside it smells like a cooked chicken. All you will be able to hear in the stage is people cheering or people booing.






So Jack attended to the show to show his amazing magic tricks that made the four judges say “Wow!”. One of the judges hit the golden buzzer which is the buzzer that puts you straight on the finals.






After a few months it was time to go to the finals so Jack prepared the magic tricks that he was going to show to the four rich judges. It was a long long drive until Jack and James his driver arrived there. Jack waited for the other performers to have their turn, after everybody had their turn it was time for Jack to go stand on the enormous stage. He was terribly nervous because he thought he might fail his amazing tricks and that he might not win. Jack didn’t fail his incredible magic tricks he actually made the four amazing judges say “Wow” again, and he made their mouths wide open as their eyes did the same.






After all that they were going to announced who the winner is. Jack was so nervous that he might not be the one. But when the judges announced who the winner is they shouted “Tom Jack”. Happy tears came out of Jack’s eyes and he shouted out “thank you”, loudly in to the microphone.

Next Step: In the second paragraph slow down a little and describe the stage and setting , (sights, sounds, colours etc) where the competition was being held. Describe the judges, looks on their faces etc.
