Narrative Story ART HURUMANU

Kamusta readers this week I finished the Manaakitanga narrative story in our Art Hurumanu. In this story they show Manaakitanga by being helpful like donating 10 MILLION DOLLARS to a school and helping pushing a bank truck to a school. I hope you enjoy this story and we are also making a stop motion using clay and we are gonna base it on this story. Thank you for READING THIS!

MANAAKITANGA

Mr. Sutton the kindest principal of Hornby High School was having an enormous problem he needed 10million dollars!, to finish constructing up the new buildings that he wanted to construct at the school. Mr. Sutton thought that he would ask one of the richest couples in the world to borrow 10million dollars, he wanted to ask the rich couple Charlie and Rose. Mr. Sutton rushed to grab his phone off his office table and quickly tapped Charlie’s name on the call list (Charlie’s name is on the call list because Mr. Sutton once called him to help him to build Hornby High School) and the phone started to ring.” Kia Ora Robin how can I help you?” asked Charlie, “ Could I borrow 10million dollars to finish constructing the buildings that I was planning to build?” asked Mr. Sutton/Robin “ Absolutely Robin” responded Charlie, “ the call ended”.

Mr. Sutton received a message from Charlie that says “Me and Rose will send the 10 million dollar using a bank truck, the bank will not let us send the money with card, the truck will be there at 10pm”. The bank gave the 10 million dollar cash to Charlie and Rose to put on the bank truck. 4 men inside the bank heard the conversation of Charlie and Rose that they will transfer 10million dollars using a truck. The 4 men rushed out of the bank and quickly opened the car doors, the car zoomed away from the bank and disappeared in the distance.

It was 9:30pm and the bank truck started to travel to from the bank to Hornby High School. The bank truck suddenly came to a halt it was half way to Hornby High School, and 4 hooded figures came out of the mist. It was then they knew that their truck ran out of gas, the driver complained to his mind that he drove to the gas station before he drove off. It was the 4 men inside the bank that drained the bank truck when the driver was paying inside the gas station, and the 4 hooded men was them!

The driver looked out on the window to see if anyone was outside so that he can ask for help, his eyes grew big as he was scratching the steering wheel when he saw the 4 hooded men had a bat a gun and a knife. His arms quickly reached the door and opened it and ran to the nearest house. He was so nervous that he knocked so hard on the door, his eyes were full of fear and was shaking like it was the coldest time he had experienced. A man inside the house opened the door and shouted “ WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?!”, “ fo-fou four hooded man was standing in front of the bank truck I was driving” He responded while he was shaking. One of the men standing in front of the bank truck was holding a crowbar.

The man holding a crowbar sprinted at the back of the truck and used his strength and crowbar to open the door. Each man had a bag to put the money inside. They took the money out of the truck without any hesitation, as they were grabbing the money inside, sirens from far away started to get louder and louder as if it was coming closer. When they the 4 men heard the sirens they panicked and panicked and dropped the bags full of money and sprinted as fast as they could away from the truck like Usain Bolt. Unfortunately they were blocked with the police cars. The 4 men were caught!

The truck driver and the man inside the house he knocked onto called the police for help. People in their house heard the sirens and had a look outside their house, and when they asked the truck driver what had happened, when they knew that the truck ran out of fuel, they volunteered to push the truck to Hornby High School.

The buildings in Hornby High School was finished constructing and Mr. Sutton was thankful to Charlie, Rose, the bus driver and all the people that helped to push the truck they were all happy, and the bus driver was promoted to be in charge with the bank trucks.

Science Hurumanu meaning blog post

Kia Ora readers today in this blog post I will tell you some of the meaning of this words Acidification, Deforestation, Water Vapour and Ice melt. Hope you learn some of the meaning of this words.

Acidification - The ocean acidification is a term used to describe important changes to the chemistry of the ocean. It occurs when carbon dioxide gas is absorbed  by the ocean and reacts with sea water to make acid. The action or the process of making or becoming acidic.

Deforestation - Deforestation is the permanent destruction of forests in order to make the land available for other uses.

Water Vapour - Water vapour or aqueous vapor is the gaseous phase of water .It is one state of water within the hydrosphere. Water vop can be produced from the evaporation or boiling of liquid water or from the sublimation of ice.

Ice Melts - Melting is the process by which a substance changes from the solid phase to the liquid phase. Melting is also know as fusion.

AIM: TO LOOK AT THE WATER CYCLE AND HOW CLIMATE CHANGE IS AFFECTING IT.

Definition:

A green box with icons and white text. Text reads: Where is Earth's Water? 96.5 percent is in the oceans; 1.7 percent is in lakes, rivers, streams, and soil; 1.7 percent is in polar ice caps, glaciers, and permanent snow; 0.001 percent is in water vapor in Earth's atmosphere

Scientific words:

  • Evaporation. When water is heated by radiant energy it turns into water vapor.
  • Transpiration. Evaporation from plants.
  • Condensation. When water vapor cools, molecules join together and form clouds.
  • Precipitation. When clouds get heavy the waters falls as rain, sleet, hail, or snow.
  • Acidification: the action or process of making or becoming acidic.

We will be conducting an experiment that looks at the different ways that climate change is affecting the water cycle.
An illustration of the water cycle showing how water travels from rivers and streams to clouds to snow and back again

5. Bag 2 had a small amount of water
6. The acidity in bag 2 had a large amount of acidity

7. Bag 3 cycled water
8. Bag 3 had a small amount of water
9.The acidity in bag 3 was low

Conclusion:

Bag 1 cycled water in a normal way with a small amount of water with no acidity.

Bag 2 also cycled water in a normal way with a little amount of water with a large acidity.

Bag 3 ALSO cycled water in a normal way with a very amount of water with no acidity.

TODAY YOU WILL BE INVESTIGATING THE EFFECTS THAT CLIMATE CHANGE HAS ON THE WATER CYCLE.

  1. Using your SOLO hexagons poster write a paragraph about the different aspects of climate change.
  2. Write about the following Climate Change concepts:
You can do these by powerpoint, embedding a movie , on your blog, on a doc or any other form of presentation. It is up to you.

ART HURUMANU BLOG!!

Kamusta readers in this blog post I will tell you almost everything we have been making and doing in Art Hurumanu. First week of Art Hurumanu we drew a lot of characters we had been watching on TV I forgot who the characters were but it was a shell with googly eyes. The next week we were grouped into 3 or 4, we were given a piece of paper and we had to plan and draw what was going to be the main characters in our story and also what was going to be the problem and the solution to that problem. We are doing stop motion in our Art Hurumanu, the teacher asked us how we are going to do our stop motion like what were gonna use to do it we chose to do it by using clay, most of our classmates picked clay because it was also very interesting how we were gonna make our characters with clay.

We started making our characters which were Mr. Sutton, Charlie and Rose it was a bit hard making them because we need to mix colours to make other colours because we didn't have all the colours.
We were also creating a narrative story at the same time it was about what was going to happen in our stop motion, and that is what we've done in Art Hurumanu so far.

This doesn't really look like Mr. Sutton but its alright.

What I've done in CIP this term!

Hello readers in this blog post I will be talking about what I have been doing in CIP this tearm and what I've learnt. In CIP we have been discussing about the community, like being kind to others and sharing. Also in CIP we had to pick our passion, like what you want to do, I picked Gym Sports because I like playing sports. In Gym Sports we needed to warm up first before playing sports, we do lots of stretching we also do planking for our warm up. We played sports like Basketball and Football, when we've done playing those sports we get to play fun games like dodge ball which is really fun I really enjoyed Gym Sports this term, but maybe next time they could add basketball in on one of the passion. In CIP we also have been writing stories about a video that we have been watching you can check the stories that I have written on my blog we also made a blog post about what we need and we want, you can also check that on my blog.

We also talked about ASMR and watched some videos, some videos were really disgusting like when they are eating on front of the mic and also some videos were really satisfying, and I finally knew what ASMR stands for it stands for Autonomous sensory meridian response. We also had to pick up a lot of rubbish and put them on a plastic bag we picked up different kind of rubbish like soda cans, water bottles, chip packets, random bottles and a lot more of rubbish. In CIP we've also tried making a bird using card boards and I thought that was fun too.

The last week of the term we have been planning and making a colouring competition for the primary students during the school holidays. We had to draw or search google for possible colouring in pictures to give out. My partner Gerald and I created a letter for PaperPlus and asked if they could donate some prizes for our colouring in competition. I also created a colouring in picture for the other schools to colour in, the schools that are participating in the colouring in competition is Hornby Primary School, St Bernadette's and Gilberthorpe School. The colouring in competition will start in the school holidays!

Science Climate Change

Kamusta readers in our Science Hurumanu we are learning about climate change and how it is slowly affecting the wildlife and the world. We are also going to answer some of the question at the bottom of this introduction, we are gonna watch a video and answer the question down below as the video goes along.

I haven't answered all of the questions because I didn't hear some of the answers when the video was playing.

Aim: To look at the causes of climate change and how to prevent it.

As you watch the video answer these questions:

What is our greatest threat in thousands of years?  Climate Change

How do we see climate change affecting the globe? it  creates Floods, Tornado, Storms, heat waves.
  1.   Floods
  2.   Tornadoes
  3.   Storms
  4.   Tsunamis

What is needed to change history? By not littering and not burning stuff

Is climate change a man made distaster? It is a man made disaster

Dramaitc action must be made in the next __ years to change it? A decade yes

Why is our climate changing? Using lots fossil fuels

What is causing the warming trend of the climate? Adding more and more fossil fuels

What is the main problem? Adding more carbon dioxide/radiocarbon

What are examples of these? Using fossil fuels to run a factory and  travel with cars

Burning fossil fuels releases what gas? radio dioxide

How much hotter now is our world? I

What do we call this global warming? Climate Change

How is this affecting creatures / animals like bats? Bats died because of the heat they aren't used to and a lot of bats dies because of the heat and other animal dies from dehydration.

What percentage of species are near extinction? 8% of species are near extinction

How could this effect the world ecosystems?

What global change was seen and recording breaking last year?

How is climate change affecting our weather systems?
1.
2.
3. xvxz

What will happen if the ice melts in Antarctica and the Arctic? The sea level rises up and it will be able to take down a whole country

How does this affect people? The sea level will rise up and it will also destroy peoples home.

What other things affect oceans change? It

What does to much heat do to coral? It turns white and then die.

Why did some industries not want to stop burning fossil fuels? To continue create cars with fossil fuels and

Stop at 23.39

Investigation

You can decide on how you would like to do this investigation. Your presentation could be on the blog, slides, or Powerpoint.

Write a definition, upload an image and list where these fossil fuels are mined.

Image result for coal
  1. Coal - Coal is a very hard rock which can be burned into a fossil it is mostly carbon.
  2. Oil - Oil is a liquid that is specially used for fuel.
  3. Natural Gas - Natural Gas are also called fossil gas

Write a paragraph and upload an image about each of these renewable energy.

  1. Solar - Solar absorbs the heat from the sun and creates an energy. Once it is absorbed it can create electricity that you can use for your house. The electricity can be used to create technology.
  2. Wind - Winds can also create electricity by using a windmill it spins so fast.
  3. Waves - Wave energy is produced when you place an electricity generator under the ocean.
  4. Hydro -

Write a 6 sentence reflection about what you have learnt about Climate Change and how it is going to affect us.  '

I've learnt that Climate Change is a disaster created by mans because we burn a lot of fossil fuels that damages the earth's atmosphere. I've also learnt that Climate Change is going to affect us by the earth getting warmer.
