HEROES AND VILLAINS STORYYYY

 Kia Ora,

Today I will share with you the story that I have made about an old man getting kidnapped and a little boy saving him.

SLAM! Mark slammed the door shut as he wrapped the dog leash handle around his hand, his dog barked as the wind whispered into its ears. They walked from his house to the park across the road. The trees that are scattered around the park waved and welcomed them. They walked around the enormous park in circles. Mark pulled up his sleeves unaware that he had his diamond watch on, as they continued on walking people started staring at his wrist, concerned he looked at his wrist then he realized that his watch was exposed and that was the reason everybody was staring.

A man with the sight of an eagle saw the watch just as soon as Mark was pulling down his sleeves. It was Houma, a leader of a group of thieves and kidnappers but no one knows that, he is mostly known as a leader of thugs in the neighborhood.

Houma and his group of thugs ignorantly and slowly walked up to Mark bumping off people as they walked towards him. They circled around Mark with their hands in their pocket.” Ah, isn’t this a rare find” Houma exclaimed with a terrifying grin. 2 of Houmas’s underlings grabbed both of Mark's arms and they dragged him as they walked out of the park. Mark couldn’t do a single thing since there were over 10 people gathered around him, the people in the park were also afraid of Houma’s gang.

After a few minutes of walking, they’ve arrived in an alleyway. Houma ordered his younger brother Hamidullah to put an end to Mark and steal his watch. Hamidullah pushed Mark against the wall while holding a knife against Mark's throat at the same time. Hamdullah tried to snatch the watch from Mark but the watch was hugging tightly onto Mark's wrist. Finally Hamidullah managed to successfully steal the watch from Mark.

After the watch was stolen Houma ordered Hamidullah to execute Mark on the spot. Out of nowhere a young kid who is about 14 years old appeared and punched Hamidullah right in the face knocking him out. It appears that Daniel came from the other side of the alleyway and sneaked his way to a rubbish bin close to Mark and Hamidullah and sneakily made his way into Hamidullah.” And what might a young kid be doing in a place like this, and interfering with my plans!” Houma yelled at Daniel.

“I-um, I ac-I actually don’t know, I saw you take the old man at the park and my body instinctively moved and followed you all th-the way down here” Daniel answered back with fear in his eyes. “Quite the hero I see”, “Kill him”. Houmas gang charged at him with all kinds of weapons. Daniel took Mark's arm and tried to run at the other end of the alleyway. Daniel stopped. “You go on ahead sir, they are catching up with us” Daniel told Mark, Mark without hesitation ran with all his might, Daniel smiled at Mark and turned around to try and stop Houma from chasing Mark.

Mark had asked for help and police were on their way in the alleyway with Daniel’s parents. While driving in the police car they’ve come upon 4 men and a young kid lying down on the road. The young kid was Daniel and 4 of Houmas men. Daniel’s parents hopped off the car and rushed their way to Daniel. Daniel was lying on the ground unconscious with all kinds of wounds and bruises all over his body but he was still breathing.

Daniel’s dad carried Daniel inside the police car. They drove to the nearest hospital but unfortunately for him he was announced dead on arrival. A few weeks have passed in Daniel’s death ceremony there was Mark. Mark walked up to Daniel’s parents and gave his diamond watch and said “ I’m sorry for your loss, but thank you” then he walked away.

Margaret Mahy THE NEW ZEALAND FAMOUS AUTHOR

 Kia Ora,

Today I will share you the things that I've learnt about Margaret Mahy when her first book was published and some of the achieve she has made.

Margaret Mahy was born in Whakatane in 1963 and was the eldest of five children. Her mother was a teacher and she was considered a slow learner and hated maths in every way. Margaret Mahy’s first published book was called “ Harry is Bad” she had this published when she was only a seven year old child. Margaret was brave enough to show it to her classmates to tell them that they could also write stories at such a young age.

Margaret went to a local high school where she was also acknowledged as a very talented swimmer. When she had completed her B.A ( Bachelor of Arts) in college and graduated in 1955. She went to train at the New Zealand library school as a librarian in 1956. Then one of her first books made her become known internationally.

Margaret Mahy was now known as a famous New Zealander known as an author of children’s and young adult books. She is also one of the world’s and most famous children’s authors. She had written more than 100 picture books, 40 novels and 20 collections of short stories which was pretty impressive. Unfortunately for her she was diagnosed with cancer and sadly passed away at the age of 76 years old in 2012. But her books will stay forever and will be a remembrance of her works and all of the amazing  stuff she had done and made, and hope that she will not be forgotten.

GUT PUNCHER

 Kia Ora,

Today I will show you a game that me and my friends made. It is a very fun and easy game all you need is 2 person or more and a pillow. The game is called Gut Puncher, so how the game work is you need one person to have a pillow under their shirt and place it against their chest or stomach, and people will punch his stomach or the pillow on his stomach for fun and it is also a good stress reliever. But you can only do 3 punches per person so the person with the pillow won't get hurt as much... You can go on and try ITS FUN but also make sure you take turns on punching so they won't get hurt as much...

PEE BEEEEEP TEST

Malo e lelei,

Today I will be telling you more about what I have been doing in PE for this term. The main activities we have been doing in PE are measuring stuff like finding the length and width of a court we've been measuring a lot of stuff since this is a combination of Maths and PE. The other main thing we've been doing is the beep test, at the start of PE we did the beep test to see what level we are on. When we had the result of our beep test the next thing we did was try to improve and beat our level that we were on. We did 12 exercise circuit to improve our legs and try to beat our level. The 12 circuit exercise is where you have 12 exercises and you gotta do all of them inside 30seconds.

AND TODAY IS OUR FINAL DAY OF PE AND WE ARE GOING TO DO THE BEEP TEST AGAIN AND SEE IF WE'VE IMPROVED.

SOLAR OVENS

Malo e lelei,

Today I will be telling you about a solar oven that my team and I made in science. To make the solar oven we had a few materials and this materials are tin foil, cardboard, some tape and if you want you can use a few skewers to stick the materials onto each other. Firstly we had to make a shape using the cardboard then after that we had to cover it with tinfoil using tape. Then we went outside because it was sunny and it was a perfect weather to test our solar oven. We put marshmallows and used a magnifying glass to burn it. Some solar oven worked and some didn't

P.E CLASSSSSS!!! LETSS GOO

Kia Ora,

Today I will tell you most of the thing I've been doing for the past few weeks on PE. First of all we've done a beep test to see what level we are on and we will be trying to improve them in the future. The beep test is where you run from an end to the other but you only run when you hear a beep. If you don't get to the other end in time you will be out.

Once we've done the beep test the next day we tried improving for the future so we will have more stamina and speed to stay longer on the court and try to beat the level we were once on. To improve our stamina and speed we did a few exercises, we have done push ups, burpees, sit ups, squats and other 8 exercises. For each one we had to them for 30 seconds and try to get as many as we can inside 30 seconds. Since its pe and maths we've done few maths activities like find the perimeter of the gym.

THIS IS ONE OF THE RECORD OF ONE OF THE ACTIVITES I'VE MADE:

WW1 IN HORNBY HIGH SCHOOL

 Kia Ora.

Today I will share a little bit of information I've learnt about women in WW1. I will also tell you about the DLO I made using kahoot, making this kahoot was pretty easy I just had to ask a question and put wrong answers. HERE IS A SOURCE I'VE USED TO LEARN ABOUT WOMEN IN WW1 https://www.iwm.org.uk/history/12-things-you-didnt-know-about-women-in-the-first-world-war

NZ WOMEN IN WW1

During WW1 women have been doing a lot of jobs. Since over 6million men enlisted to go and fight overseas women had to fill in those jobs. Some women even worked to make bombs! Women were already working at their old jobs so after the men left they had to do even more jobs. Women in WW1 also bravely worked in dangerous working conditions, some of the dangerous jobs they did was working with TNT’s that could explode and expose poison.

OMY ITS QUESTIONS YOWWWW

Kia Ora,

Today I will be answering a few questions asked by my teacher, here are the questions:

1. What is a Solar System? What is the Milky Way an example of? The solar system is the sun and the planets that orbit the sun. The milky way is the galaxy that contains our solar system.

2. What is a Star? Describe a Nebula. Stars are ball of gasses they are mostly helium and hydrogen. The nebula is a giant cloud of dust and gas in space.

3. How do stars die? Stars will die when they have burned all of its hydrogen fuel then it expands to become a red giant. After puffing its outer layers the start will collapse and die.

4. Is there an up or down in space? Apparently there is no up or down in space.

5. How can stars be used to Navigate? Stars can be used to navigate by looking for the Polaris, the North Star to go North. Use Polaris to find your latitude in the Norther Hemisphere. Then seek help from Orion to find south and now you just follow the stars for direction

GOLD MINING GOLD RUSH LESH GOW

Kia Ora,

Today I will show you some of the discoveries I've learned from gold mining.

This are the things I've learned from articles and the main book that we have read.

First Gold Rush
Gabriel Read was the first who had found gold near the Tuapeka River; he gained fame and provincial government bonuses when he found gold. Thousands of diggers as well as other people like business people and entertainers went all the way to Gabriels Gully hoping to find gold and instantly get rich.

Chinese Miners
In 1866 there were less than 200 Chinese miners in Otago, but by April 1868 the Chinese population had rapidly increased to 1270. BY 1881 the Chinese population reached its peak with just under 5000 miners.

Otago
Otago’s first gold rush was in 1861, after Gabriel Read found gold in what would be called Gabriels Gully. Thousands of diggers, later including men from China, went there to make their fortune.

Here is a really good article about Chinese miners how they helped build New Zealand and how discrimination drove them away. https://www.scmp.com/lifestyle/article/2102620/how-chinese-gold-miners-helped-build-new-zealand-and-how-discrimination
